… I’ll only be at a computer irregularly, as there’s a big child-language conference on at the university until Friday. Today I accidentally spoke to a famous person, spotted my external examiner in the distance, and helped staff the aptly but ineptly named Mugs Desk. More here, if it interests you.

Who was the famous person you accidently spoke to?
How do you speak to someone accidently?!
I should have perhaps clarified that the domain of reference for “famous” is really only the people who build academic careers on the study of children’s language :? I asked this person a question after a lecture and was surprised at my own temerity once I got a glimpse of her name-badge :)
